To assist with upcoming warm weather projects, the City's Office of Code Compliance is relaunching its free Neighborhood Toolbox Tool Lending Center. The program officially reopens Thursday, March 5, after its winter hiatus.
Greensboro residents who may not be able to easily access the necessary equipment to tackle home improvement projects are able to borrow tools for free using the Neighborhood Toolbox.
This year, the Neighborhood Toolbox is operating under new service hours. Pick-ups take place from 11 to 1 pm in the Greensboro Sportsplex rear parking lot, 2400 Sixteenth St., on Thursdays. Returns should be made from 11 am to 1 pm the following Tuesday. Equipment can be reserved through the tool application form found on the City's website.
"Donations of new equipment, such as push mowers, pole saws, hedge trimmers, and pressure washers, are appreciated and will go a long way toward expanding what we can offer," said Programs Supervisor Jarod LaRue. "Every contribution helps us grow this program, ensuring that more residents have the resources they need to get the job done."
With equipment in stock for any lawn, carpentry, maintenance needs, and more, this tool-lending program is available for non-commercial purposes to people living within Greensboro city limits.
