Iran strongly condemns Zionist regime's new attacks against Syria

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has strongly condemned the Zionist regime's attacks on various areas of Syria, including the bombing and destruction of civilian facilities and defense capabilities in Damascus, Latakia, Idlib, Hama, Quneitra, and Daraa.

Pointing to the repeated acts of aggression by the Zionist regime against Syria's strategic assets as well as military and civilian infrastructure, and the continued occupation of parts of the country by the regime, Baqaei stressed that it's now clear to everyone that the main goal of the occupying regime is to destroy Syria's defensive, economic, and infrastructural capabilities as an independent nation so that it can pursue its malicious ambitions in Syria and the wider region while simultaneously continuing its genocidal war in occupied Palestine and its aggression and occupation in Lebanon.

Baqaei further highlighted the principled and consistent position of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the need to preserve and protect the territorial integrity, dignity, and sovereignty of Syria as an independent country and a civilized nation with an impact on the security and stability of the strategic region of West Asia.

He then reiterated the responsibility of all sides involved in creating the current situation in Syria by facilitating the Israeli regime's exploitation and expansionist moves in the country.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed that stopping the warmongering and aggression of the Zionist regime against

Syria requires immediate and effective action by the international community, especially regional countries.

Accordingly, he said, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) should use existing mechanisms to compel the UN Security Council to fulfill its duty regarding the Israeli regime's violations of international law and its breaches of peace
