Traffic #ALERT: Fatal Crash Investigation Underway in Hazelwood Neighborhood

A fatal crash investigation involving a pedestrian has Southeast Stark Street closed in the Hazelwood Neighborhood, and the Portland Police Major Crash Team (MCT) is responding.

On Sunday, July 12, 2026 at 1:42 a.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to East Precinct responded to a report of a crash at Southeast Stark Street and Southeast 139th Avenue. When they arrived, they found an adult male pedestrian deceased at the scene.
The involved driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
The Portland Police Traffic Division MCT is responding to investigate the crash. During the investigation, Southeast Stark Street is closed between Southeast 138th Avenue and Southeast 143rd Avenue.
