Monmouth’s Yasmeen Tinsley Earns CAA Weekly Honor Amidst Record-Breaking Rampage

West Long Branch, NJ - Monmouth senior claimed her 11th program record last time out, and she has won Coastal Athletic Association weekly honors as a result.

Tinsley earned a share of the CAA Women's Track Athlete of the Week award, marking the third week in a row that a Hawk has claimed an honor from the league office. Pole vaulter Dalton Yeust and long jumper Ahmad Brock both took turns holding the CAA Men's Field Athlete of the Week award in April.

Tinsley continued her remarkable Monmouth career by winning the 400m title at Princeton's Larry Ellis Invitational in record time nonetheless. The senior sprinter/hurdler took over the CAA lead in the event by clocking in at 53.49. The time set a Hawks' program record, meaning Tinsley now owns 11 different Monmouth records. She also leads the CAA in the 400m hurdles while ranking second overall in the 100m hurdles. Tinsley also won CAA weekly honors for her 400m hurdles performance at George Mason's Dalton Ebanks Invitational this first week of April.

Senior thrower was a candidate for the CAA Women's Field Athlete of the Week, but it went to North Carolina A&T's Julieth Nwosu.

Wood delivered a seasonal best in her final tune-up for the CAA Championships. The Monmouth senior out-dueled Delaware's Mackenzie Stephens to take over the CAA hammer throw lead while contesting the Larry Ellis Invitational. Her 56.75m (186' 2") fling ranks third overall in Hawks' history. Wood also contested the shot put competition at Princeton, striking gold by finishing one centimeter (15.50m) off her seasonal best, which ranks second overall on the circuit.
