Shelby County Recognized for Zero Fatalities in 2025

HANNIBAL - On Monday, March 30 during the county commissioners' meeting at the Shelby County Courthouse, Shelby County was recognized for having zero fatalities in 2025. Shelby County is one of four counties in the northeast region to accomplish this, joining Lewis, Knox and Scotland counties.

Members of the Northeast Coalition for Roadway Safety, Anna Hudson with Mark Twain Regional Council of Governments, and Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer Emily Edgar, presented the commissioners and sheriff with a poster and award, as a small token of the work by everyone to help save lives and get the message out about roadway safety.
