On July 24, the Ministry of Unification hosted the 2026 Peace and Unification Cultural Event "Peace On:Dam in Our Company" at the Jincheon Plant of Yooyoung Pharmaceutical located in Jincheon-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do.
Following the successful "Peace On:Dam in Dongtan" held on Saturday, May 30, this event marks the second installment of the "Peace On:Dam" series. It is a cultural project where "kkukku," the official mascot of the Ministry of Unification, visits workers at industrial sites who rarely have opportunities to experience peace and unification culture, delivering the meaning of peace alongside a warm meal.
*Peace On:Dam: A name carrying multiple meanings, including "delivering the warmth of peace," "peace is coming," and "turning on peace."
Yooyoung Pharmaceutical is a mid-sized pharmaceutical company with around 400 employees, and approximately 200 workers are employed at the Jincheon Plant where the event took place.
During their lunch break, workers tasted the "Peace Table"-a meal composed of traditional North Korean dishes-and enjoyed beautiful melodies performed together by guitarists from South and North Korea, experiencing firsthand the warmth of peace and unification through taste and sound.
After the meal, in the lobby, Vice Minister of Unification Kim Nam Jung personally handed out refreshments, encouraging workers putting in effort despite the sweltering heat and drawing their attention to the importance of peaceful coexistence.
