Scholastic Announces the Highly Anticipated Second Installment of Wings of Fire FanWing Fest, Events Celebrating Tui T. Sutherland's Bestselling Series

The Wings of Fire FanWing Fest events will bring Sutherland and fans together in five cities across the country in April, May and June 2026.

(New York, NY - March 18, 2026) Scholastic, the global children's publishing, education and media company, today announced the return of Wings of Fire FanWing Fest, a fan festival experience that first launched in spring 2025 with sold out events across the country. Wings of Fire is a beloved dragon fantasy series by Tui T. Sutherland with more than 30 million books in print. The newest book in the series, The Hybrid Prince, published on March 3, 2026 and was an instant New York Times and USA Today bestseller.

Throughout April, May and June, five bookstores will each host a FanWing Fest event in their respective city at large-scale venues, transporting attendees to the world of dragons. Sutherland will headline, interacting with fans via photo opportunities as well as a mid-day presentation with an insider look into the hit series. Additionally, attendees can expect exciting in-world activations such as an airbrush tattoo and face painting stations, coloring walls as well as trivia and game shows, a costume parade, exclusive merchandise, and the camaraderie of their fellow book lovers. Sutherland will be joined at each event by other Wings of Fire collaborators.

"Wings of Fire readers are the sweetest, most creative, funny, awesome people-each one I meet makes me feel so lucky and so full of hope for the world," said Sutherland. "I'm so excited for these FanWing Fest events, where lovely readers (and artists and writers and storytellers!) can meet each other, and we can all celebrate dragons and books together!"

Wings of Fire fans call themselves "FanWings," and Sutherland's detailed world-building has inspired creativity among these fans, who share fan art, fanfiction, theories, and enthusiasm on social media, a wiki fan page and a dedicated subreddit. The Wings of Fire series spans the original prose novels as well as graphic novel adaptations, coloring and activity books, and an in-world guide book. Wings of Fire will continue to soar to even greater heights with an animated series now in development with Amazon MGM Studios.

Tickets for the events will be available to purchase on March 23, 2026 and will include an exclusive poster signed by Sutherland in addition to one of four Wings of Fire books that customers can choose to pair with their tickets.
