Addis Statement on Shooting at Moss Landing
For immediate release:
Monday, November 2, 2026
MONTEREY - Assemblymember Dawn Addis (D-Morro Bay) issued the following statement in response to the shooting at Moss Landing this morning:
"My heart is with those who are affected by this heinous violence. We must continue to work to end gun violence, and I am committed to doing so. As the families and our community mourn, I thank the Monterey County Sheriff and all who responded at this time of need. Our team has been in contact with the Monterey Sheriff's office and are here to help."
Around 2 a.m. this morning, the Monterey Sheriff's deputies and California Highway Patrol responded to a shooting at Moss Landing that has so far resulted in two fatalities and two injuries.
Witnesses or those with information should contact the Monterey County Sheriff's Office at 831-755-5111.
Dawn Addis was elected to the California State Assembly in 2022 to represent the coastal 30th Assembly District, which includes San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Cruz Counties. She is the Chair of the Assembly Budget Subcommittee 1 on Health.
