Concrete rail repairs planned for South Loop 289 flyover

LUBBOCK - TxDOT crews are scheduled to make concrete rail repairs to the south Loop 289 flyover/direct connector, to northbound I-27, on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 11 - 12. Repair work is scheduled to begin after the morning rush hour both days and will require the flyover to be closed to traffic-giving the crew the space needed to safely stage equipment and perform the work.

Flyover traffic will be detoured onto the frontage road. Drivers can use the cloverleaf ramp to the I-27 frontage road or use the 82nd Street turnaround to connect with northbound I-27. Drivers should also anticipate the inside lane on eastbound Loop 289, directly below the flyover, to also be closed.

The flyover will reopen to traffic before the afternoon rush hour. Work will take place weather permitting.
