"Through your leadership at the head of the state, you have earned the deep respect of your fellow citizens and considerable international standing. It is difficult to overstate your personal contribution to the development of the comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance between Russia and Kazakhstan.

We had a warm conversation in Moscow on May 9. I am grateful that you were able to attend the celebrations of Victory Day, our shared great holiday.

Preparations for my state visit to Kazakhstan are nearing completion. I am confident that the upcoming talks will help further expand the full range of mutually beneficial bilateral ties between our countries and peoples. The meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council in Astana, which will be held under your chairmanship, takes on special importance."
