While the investigation into Tuesday morning's fatal crash in the Cully Neighborhood continues, the preliminary findings suggest an Infinity G35 was traveling westbound on Northeast Lombard Street at a high rate of speed when it failed to negotiate the turn onto Northeast Killingsworth Street, lost control and struck a metal light pole. Unfortunately, a passenger in the vehicle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver was transported to a hospital with numerous injuries. Criminal charges are pending as PPB's Major Crash Team believes excessive speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
The investigation into this incident is ongoing. Anyone with information, who has not talked with police, is asked to e-mail [email protected] attn: Traffic Division and reference case number PP26-189188.
