Two men arrested, charged with trafficking firearms

BUFFALO, N.Y.-U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced that Dut Dour, 34, of Buffalo, NY, and Tommy Purdue, 28, of Buffalo, NY, were arrested and charged by criminal complaint with conspiracy to commit trafficking in firearms, which carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

According to the criminal complaint, in May 2025, the FBI and ATF Buffalo began investigating a firearms trafficking group based in and operating throughout the Western District of New York. Dour and Purdue were identified as firearms traffickers.

On August 15, 2025, investigators conducted a controlled purchase of a firearm from Dour. Purdue was also present during the purchase. On February 27, 2026, investigators conducted another controlled purchase of two firearms from Dour. Third and fourth controlled purchases of firearms were conducted on April 14 and April 29, 2026. The firearms included four handguns and a rifle.

A review of Purdue's social media accounts and communications with Dour revealed that Purdue appeared in multiple photographs and videos with firearms to include handguns and long rifles. The investigation determined that Purdue has and continues to appear in photographs flaunting and advertising various kinds of firearms dating back to November 2024. The investigation also determined that Dour possessed more than one cellular device. Firearms traffickers and their co-conspirators frequently communicate with each other utilizing a "dirty" phone, a cell phone primarily used to facilitate illegal activity between co-conspirators to avoid detection of law enforcement.

Purdue and Dour made initial appearances before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael J. Roemer and were detained.

This case is part of Operation Take Back America, a nationwide initiative that marshals the full resources of the Department of Justice to repel the invasion of illegal immigration, achieve the total elimination of cartels and transnational criminal organizations (TCOs), and protect our communities from the perpetrators of violent crime.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney MacCaelin A. Sedita. The criminal complaint is the result of an investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Allen D. Davis, II and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Bryan DiGirolamo, New York Field Division.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
