Rep. Niemerg Files Articles of Impeachment Ater Gov. Pritzker’s Inflammatory Comments

"Dereliction of his Constitutional Duties: Pritzker Must be Impeached!"

Dieterich, IL - State Representative Adam Niemerg (R-Dieterich) says words matter and Gov. Pritzker's record of inflammatory remarks make him unfit to serve which is why he has filed legislation to impeach Governor Pritzker. House Resolution 467 calls for the impeachment of Governor JB Pritzker and highlights the numerous hateful comments Gov. Pritzker has made which are helping to foment political violence.

According to the Resolution: "On or about February, Governor JB Pritzker ended his State of the State speech with the following statements that compare Republicans to the Nazi party of Germany: 'The authoritarian playbook is laid bare here: They point to a group of people who don't look like you and tell you to blame them for your problems. . . . If you think I'm overreacting and sounding the alarm too soon, consider this: It took the Nazis one month, three weeks, two days, eight hours and minutes to dismantle a constitutional republic. On or about March, Governor JB Pritzker spoke at the Human Rights Campaign Los Angeles Dinner and stated the following when speaking about the Trump Administration and Republicans in Congress: 'Bullies respond to one thing, and one thing only, a punch in the face.' 'And I won't continue to advocate that we wage a conventional political fight when what we really need is to become street fighters.' On or about April, Governor JB Pritzker spoke in Manchester, New Hampshire, and stated: 'Never before in my life have I called for mass protests, for mobilization, for disruption, but I am now. These Republicans cannot know a moment of peace.'"

Niemerg said Governor Pritzker's callous remarks make him unfit to serve.

"Governor Pritzker's remarks are providing legitimacy to radicals who are committing these heinous crimes against people like Charlie Kirk," Niemerg said. "If it were one isolated incident - it would be one thing but there is a pattern here. His remarks are undignified and are disqualifying for the office of Governor. It is time to hold Governor Pritzker accountable for his actions."
