Rep. Regina Lewis-Ward Serves as Keynote Speaker at 7th Annual Single Parents Banquet and Awards in Atlanta

ATLANTA - State Representative Regina Lewis-Ward (D-McDonough) recently delivered the keynote address at the 7th Annual Single Parents Banquet and Awards, hosted by the National Leadership Group, Inc. and others. The event brought together families, advocates and community leaders to celebrate the resilience and achievements of single parents.

"Livable wages, accessible childcare, affordable healthcare and safe communities are not conveniences-they are lifelines," Rep. Lewis-Ward stated in her remarks.

Rep. Lewis-Ward notes that the evening highlighted the strength and determination of single-parent households, while recognizing individuals who have made significant contributions to their families and communities. Rep. Lewis-Ward also highlights that former United States President Ronald Reagan issued a presidential proclamation in 1984 designating March 21, 1984, as National Single Parent Day. Since then, March 21 has continued to be recognized annually, and the banquet continues to serve as a platform to uplift, empower and advocate for policies that strengthen families across Georgia.

Representative Regina Lewis-Ward represents the citizens of 115, which includes portions of DeKalb and Henry counties. She was first elected to the House of Representatives in 2020 and currently serves on the Agriculture & Consumer Affairs, Banks & Banking, Energy, Utilities & Telecommunications and Interstate Cooperation committees.
