Historic Blocks Added to Landmark Logan Square Boulevards District
The landmark Logan Square Boulevards District was approved for a six-block expansion by City Council today.
Consisting of 111 properties along Humboldt and Sacramento Boulevards and Sacramento Avenue near Humboldt Park, the expanded boundaries include late 19th and early 20th century homes and multi-unit buildings designed by noteworthy architects such as Carl M. Almquist, George Dubin and Fritz Lang.
The Logan Square Boulevards District was designated by City Council in 2005. The exteriors of contributing buildings within the district are protected against significant alteration or demolition.
