New year, new programs, new opportunities! There are a lot of different ways to improve both your personal and professional life at Drexel University, and the most timely ones are listed below.
Here's what was heard around campus last month:
Whether you're caring for a loved one who is aging or who has a disability, the Generations Program can help you navigate the health care system and receive mental and emotional support. This new benefit is being offered by Health Advocate, provider of Drexel's award-winning Wellness Incentive Program, health advocacy services, and the Employee Assistance Program. To learn more about the Generations program, you're invited to a Feb. 4 virtual session, "Benefits Overview: Health Advocate Generations Program for Caregivers." Register for this event in Career Pathway and earn 15 Wellness Incentive Program points ($15) for attending.
Leading teams in a way that fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment is a vital supervisory skill. Understanding how difference can affect interactions between team members, and choosing leadership strategies appropriately, can be challenging. What happens when aspects of social identity and their perceived value divide team members from each other, or even from the supervisor? This workshop uses Drexel's values and commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging as foundations for participants to critically examine their own and others' viewpoints, and to use leadership actions at the personal, interpersonal, community and organizational levels to work through challenging situations. This session is open to anyone and is a required component of The Art of Management Certificate program. Register in Career Pathway.
Drexel will offer onsite biometric screenings on Feb. 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Behrakis Grand Hall, Creese Student Center, 3210 Chestnut St. This event is open to full-time, benefits-eligible employees who receive health insurance through Drexel or who waive coverage, as well as part-time employees covered by a Drexel health insurance plan, and eligible partners of these employees. Register on Health Advocate to claim your spot. If you prefer an offsite screening, follow the instructions on the HR website or in the Health Advocate portal to schedule an appointment directly at LabCorp. Participants who complete their screening will receive 100 program points ($100). Remember to complete your Personal Health Profile in the portal to begin receiving payouts.

Many managers use the My Team tab in Career Pathway to see what courses their team members have completed, especially when it comes to requirements. Recently, the functionality under the My Team tab was moved elsewhere, so managers will need new instructions to check course completions and statuses. You can find step-by-step instructions in this two-minute video. The video also includes instructions for unit leaders to see course completions and statuses for everyone who reports up through their units.
When making routine purchases with a P-card it can be hard to remember to be vigilant about whether you're being charged state sales taxes on transactions. The offices of Accounts Payable & Procurement Services and Tax Compliance want to remind faculty and professional staff that Drexel, as a non-profit educational institution, is frequently exempt from state sales tax obligations on purchases of goods and services that are made in support of our educational, research, and health care delivery mission.
When making purchases with your P-card, remember to check for sales tax charges. It's easier to avoid tax charges on the front end than it is to request refunds from suppliers. If you are doing business with a new supplier, you can provide them with Drexel's sales tax exemption forms, accessed via DrexelOne: Go to the Employee Tab and select Sales Tax Information under Administrative Tools and Resources. Clicking on "Drexel Tax Exemption Documents" or "ANS Tax Exemption Documents" will open a list of document links for each state. When travelling for Drexel- or Academy-related matters, be sure to download and print copies of any relevant state-exemption documents, so you can present them to out-of-state vendors during your travel.
For more detailed information, please review the sales tax information on the Office of Tax Compliance website. Please note the University does not have exemption from other forms of purchase tax, such as tariffs and customs, local tax, or hotel occupancy taxes. Additionally, some items may not be eligible for sales tax exemption, such as supplies and materials for campus infrastructure repairs and maintenance. Please contact the Office of Tax Compliance at [email protected] with any questions related to exemption.
You're invited to join Drexel University's ProcureExperience & Supplier Expo, a dynamic, in-person event designed to connect suppliers, campus stakeholders and the Accounts Payable & Procurement Services team.
Fiscal year 2026 (FY26) is considered a base year for developing the facilities and administrative rate proposal for submission to the Division of Cost Allocation of the Department of Health and Human Services. One of the major base-year activities is conducting a physical equipment inventory of all fixed and moveable equipment owned by the University. Representatives from Inventory-ID (formerly Asset Services) began the inventory on Jan. 20 and are expected to be on site through the end of February. Drexel Real Estate and Facilities is coordinating the approximate timeline of the inventory and access to the necessary spaces. Each department being inventoried needs to have a representative physically present on campus to assist with the inventory. Please review the announcement on the Comptroller website for more details about this process.
If you were enrolled in a 2025 health care and/or dependent care flexible spending account (FSA), March 31, 2026, is the final due date to submit any unreimbursed claims for services incurred from Jan. 1 through Dec. 31, 2025. Manual claims are submitted electronically through the My Drexel Benefits portal. To access the portal, select the My Drexel Benefits link on the Employee tab of DrexelOne.
For Health Care FSAs, up to $660 of your unused 2025 balance will carry over to the 2026 plan year. However, any unused funds over the carryover amount will be forfeited. For Dependent Care FSAs, there is no rollover, and all claims against 2025 funds must have been incurred by Dec. 31, 2025. All unused Dependent Care FSA funds will be forfeited after the claim run-out period ends March 31, 2026.
