Three significant projects are expected to be completed later this summer in Uptown Marion. Hoth Flats and Belltower Lofts were supported by the Community Development Block Grant - Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) program.
Hoth Flats
800 block of 10th Street, Marion
Hoth Flats, a new apartment community located in the heart of Uptown Marion. Thoughtfully designed with modern finishes and functional layouts, Hoth Flats offers a fresh living experience in one of the area's most vibrant and growing neighborhoods.
Hoth Flats offers modern one- and two-bedroom apartment homes with quality finishes and convenient access to local dining, shopping and community amenities. It is a mixed-income housing community supported by the CDBG-DR program. Income restrictions apply to select units. Rental rates are set by program guidelines. Priority leasing for households impacted by the 2020 derecho.
Belltower Lofts
1200 block of 8th Avenue, Marion
Built in 1896, the property originally housed the Marion First United Methodist Church. When the August 2020 derecho swept through the area, the church sustained significant damage, leaving its future uncertain.This project not only creates much-needed housing opportunities but also preserves one of the community's most historic and recognizable landmarks.
Once complete, Belltower Lofts will feature 55 total units designed to meet a range of housing needs. The property will include studio apartments, one-bedroom apartments, one-bedroom lofts.
Belltower Lofts is part of a mixed-income housing initiative. 51% of the property is funded through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program, meaning income eligibility requirements apply for a portion of the available units. These affordable housing opportunities aim to support residents who meet certain income criteria and expand access to high-quality living options in the area.
Broad & Main on 6th
1100 block of 6th Avenue, Marion
Broad & Main on 6th will add 42 apartments, 3,000 square feet of commercial space adjacent to the Central Plaza and underbuilding parking for the residents. The project is on track to be completed yet this year.
