Members of The University of Toledo community are invited to participate in the annual holiday season giving program in partnership with the Salvation Army.
This year's program - Brighten the Holidays: The Angel Tree Project - aims to provide toys, books and stuffed animals to local children in need. Students, student organizations, faculty, staff, colleges, departments and offices are all encouraged to join in spreading holiday cheer.
To participate, complete this online form to be matched with one of the "Angels" we are sponsoring or to express interest in hosting a donation box in your office or department. You also can visit the Office of Student Engagement and Connections in Thompson Student Union Room 1532 to drop off any general gifts you wish to donate starting Friday, Nov. 14.
Participants may donate any of the following items:
• Children's toys
• Bicycles, scooters, etc.
• Children's books
• Stuffed animals
All gifts should be new, unwrapped and delivered to the Office of Student Engagement and Connections by 5 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5.
Donations also will be accepted at the President's Thanksgiving Lunch on Monday, Nov. 17, offering another opportunity to give back.
Once all gifts have been collected, they will be delivered to the Salvation Army Toy Shop, where local families will be able to pick up the gifts for their children.
