Mayor Littmann Announces Annapolis
City Council Standing Committee Assignments

ANNAPOLIS, MD (December 4, 2025) - Annapolis Mayor Jared Littmann announced appointment selections for the Annapolis City Council's seven standing committees and the Audit Committee for the upcoming term. The appointments will be introduced by City Council Resolution(s) at the first meeting of the newly-elected City Council on Monday, December 8, 2025 (7 p.m. in City Council Chambers, City Hall, 160 Duke of Gloucester, Annapolis).

Annapolis City Council standing committees guide legislative action and strengthen oversight of city operations. Committee members review legislation, develop policy recommendations, and ensure that governance practices reflect the needs and values of City residents. The Audit Committee oversees the City's financial health by reviewing financial reports, overseeing the audit process, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws.

"It's important to reflect the unique skillsets and viewpoints that each Alderperson brings to the table," said Mayor Littmann. In working through the appointment process, we sought to ensure that every committee benefits from the diverse experience and perspectives of members. This strengthens our ability to serve the people of Annapolis."

Standing Committee assignments are as follows:

  • Economic Matters Committee - Ald. Brooks Schandelmeier (Ward 5), Ald. Janice Allsup-Johnson (Ward 4), Ald. Rob Savidge (Ward 7)

  • Environmental Matters Committee - Ald. Rob Savidge (Ward 7), Ald. Diesha Contee (Ward 6), Ald. Harry Huntley (Ward 1)

  • Finance Committee - Ald. Harry Huntley (Ward 1), Ald. Karma O'Neill (Ward 2), Ald. Frank Thorp (Ward 8)

  • Housing & Human Welfare Committee - Ald. Diesha Contee (Ward 6), Ald. Keanuú Smith-Brown (Ward 3), Ald. Karma O'Neill (Ward 2)

  • Public Safety Committee - Ald. Karma O'Neill (Ward 2), Ald. Diesha Contee (Ward 6), Ald. Keanuú Smith-Brown (Ward 3)

  • Rules & City Government Committee - Ald. Keanuú Smith-Brown (Ward 3), Ald. Frank Thorp (Ward 8), Ald. Brooks Schandelmeier (Ward 5)

  • Transportation Committee - Ald. Janice Allsup-Johnson (Ward 4), Ald. Brooks Schandelmeier (Ward 5), Ald. Rob Savidge (Ward 7)

Ad Hoc Committee assignments are as follows:

  • Audit Committee - Ald. Frank Thorp (Ward 8), Ald. Harry Huntley (Ward 1), Ald. Janice Allsup-Johnson (Ward 4)

The assignments will be introduced by Resolution at Monday's City Council meeting. A final vote on the assignments will take place at the first Council meeting in January, when Standing Committee meetings are scheduled to resume.
