WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Novant Health today introduced NovaLinc™, its clinically integrated network (CIN), alongside PopuLinc Solutions, its population health services organization, marking a significant step forward in expanding value-based care and strengthening relationships across North and South Carolina.
Together, NovaLinc and PopuLinc Solutions support more connected, proactive care that improves outcomes and keeps patients healthy.
NovaLinc, which is the next iteration of Novant Health's CIN, has grown to nearly 4,500 physicians and advanced practice providers (APPs) from Novant Health Medical Group and independent clinics. The launch of NovaLinc will expand Novant Health's CIN into South Carolina and introduces a physician-led governance model that supports local decision-making and improved patient experience while lowering the overall cost of care.
"As healthcare continues to evolve, NovaLinc represents a new standard for connected, coordinated care," said Bill Schiff, senior vice president and chief payer strategy officer, Novant Health. "By bringing together employed and independent clinicians with robust data and care management support, we're creating a more seamless experience for patients and enabling providers to focus on what matters most: delivering high-quality care."
Central to this model is PopuLinc Solutions, Novant Health's Population Health Services Organization (PHSO). PopuLinc Solutions provides the infrastructure to manage the health of entire populations - including payer and employer populations - connecting clinicians, hospitals and services across care settings to improve outcomes and reduce unnecessary hospital visits.
Through PopuLinc Solutions, clinicians are supported with advanced analytics to identify and close care gaps, manage high-risk patients, coordinate transitions of care and support chronic and preventive care. In 2025, Novant Health's PHSO care management team helped schedule more than 25,000 preventive care appointments, improving access to services such as wellness visits, colonoscopies and mammograms. This type of support helps clinicians improve quality performance, drive better patient outcomes and succeed in value-based arrangements.
"PopuLinc Solutions gives us a unified way to expand the reach of our population health programs," said Dr. Michael Hoben, senior physician executive and chief medical officer, PopuLinc Solutions. "Together with NovaLinc, it reinforces our commitment to improving access, supporting clinicians and delivering meaningful results for the patients and communities we serve."
Together, NovaLinc and PopuLinc Solutions enable Novant Health to:
NovaLinc also supports physicians and APPs by reducing administrative burden and enabling them to spend more time caring for patients, while offering opportunities to participate in value-based arrangements that reward quality and outcomes.
The launch underscores Novant Health's continued evolution in care delivery - integrating clinical expertise, data and partnerships to expand access and improve community health.
