Castro Street Curb Ramps Project to begin Monday, Sept. 22

Post Date:09/17/2025 8:30 a.m.
Starting Monday, Sept. 22, crews will begin work on the Castro Street Curb Ramps Project in Downtown Mountain View.

The project will upgrade non-compliant curb ramps and media pathways along Castro Street - from Fairmont Avenue to California Street - to meet Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

Downtown visitors can expect sidewalk closures with pedestrian detours and periodic construction noise. Construction is expected to take approximately five to six weeks to complete. Businesses will remain open throughout the project.

The project is funded by Senate Bill 1 - the Road Repair and Accountability Act of 2017.
