Meet Callie E. Armstead, MA
Callie Armstead is one of the driving forces behind the Scientific Congress & Expo. As ASRM's Educational Meetings Manager, she coordinates the people, programs, and countless behind-the-scenes details that bring the annual meeting to life. ASRM 2025 in San Antonio will mark her third year helping to plan Congress, and her enthusiasm for the event continues to grow.
"Congress is truly my favorite time of year," she says. "ASRM 2025 is shaping up to be an incredible meeting. I'm especially excited about our new Global Health Exchange panel sessions, which will highlight perspectives on pressing issues from around the world, and the launch of our Environmental Seminar Series. We're also expanding interactive programming, offering more credit-earning opportunities, and introducing several new features that I can't wait for attendees to experience."
Callie's work extends far beyond Congress week. She collaborates with the ASRM President, program planning committees, and multiple professional groups to develop educational content, manage logistics, and ensure programming reflects the society's high standards for excellence.
"I wish more people knew that ASRM is so much more than our annual meetings," Callie says. "We offer year-round opportunities to learn and connect, through webinars, podcasts, new course content, and a variety of ways to engage with fellow members. There are so many ways to grow professionally outside of Congress."
For Callie, ASRM's mission is more than professional; it's deeply personal. "As a woman who faced challenges on my own journey to motherhood, I feel deeply connected to ASRM's mission," she shares. "Helping people have the opportunity to build their families when and how they choose is work that truly inspires me every day."
Her perspective brings warmth and empathy to everything she does, infusing ASRM's educational programming with purpose. And as ASRM continues to expand opportunities for connection, research, and advocacy in 2025, she's excited about what's ahead.
"The best career advice I've ever received is that success and failure are often side by side," Callie says. "If we never fail, it usually means we aren't taking risks, pushing boundaries, or challenging ourselves enough to grow."
When she's not shaping learning experiences for thousands of reproductive health professionals, Callie enjoys traveling with her husband, Austin, and their son, Callum, and exploring new cuisines as a dedicated foodie. Her family, she says, is her greatest source of inspiration.
"My husband inspires me because he has an incredible ability to always see the best in any situation," she says. "While I tend to plan for the worst-case scenario, his optimism and perspective remind me to focus on the positives and possibilities."
With that balance of optimism and precision, Callie continues to help ASRM create engaging, forward-thinking educational experiences that inspire and connect the reproductive medicine community worldwide.
