Collier County Board of County Commissioners Waives All Domestic Animal Services Adoption Fees Through September 9
The Collier County Board of County Commissioners has announced that all adoption fees at Collier County Domestic Animal Services (DAS) will be waived, effective immediately, through Tuesday, September 9, 2025. This initiative aims to encourage community members to open their homes to a shelter pet and help alleviate the current animal population at the facility.
The waiver applies to all adoptable dogs, cats, and other small animals currently residing at DAS. Each adopted animal will be spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and microchipped prior to leaving the shelter.
Meredith McLean, Director of Collier County Domestic Animal Services, expressed her enthusiasm for the fee waiver, particularly emphasizing the need for feline adoptions.
"We're incredibly thankful to the Board of County Commissioners for supporting this fee waived adoption event," McLean said. "It's a wonderful opportunity for families to welcome a loving companion into their lives. While we encourage adoptions of all our animals, we're especially focused on finding homes for our cats right now. Our cat population is quite high, and we have so many amazing felines, from playful kittens to calm adult cats, waiting for their forever homes. Adopting a cat not only brings joy to your family but also helps us make space for more animals in need."
DAS encourages prospective adopters to visit their facility to meet the animals available for adoption. The shelter is located at 7610 Davis Blvd., Naples, FL 34104.
