The President congratulated India on national day

President Gitanas Nausėda extended congratulations to President Droupadi Murmu of India and all the people of this country on India's Republic Day.

According to the President, India is a strategically important partner for Lithuania, with which Lithuania enjoys successful and multifaceted cooperation.

"I am pleased to see our bilateral dialogue growing stronger, and I believe that by expanding collaboration in the fields of trade, technology and education, as well as by developing cultural initiatives-such as concerts across India marking the 150th birth anniversary of the outstanding Lithuanian artist and composer Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis, and the publication of the first Lithuanian novel translated into Hindi-we will further strengthen relations between our countries and expand people-to-people contacts.

President Gitanas Nausėda stressed that Lithuania and India share a common vision of peace, stability and prosperity, as well as a commitment to democratic principles. "Lithuania and India remain steadfast partners in promoting peace, security and sustainable development. I firmly believe that in the face of global challenges, we will continue to uphold our commitments and cooperate in international organizations to preserve the rules-based international order," the message of congratulations reads.

On national day, Gitanas Nausėda wished the President of India and all Indians unity, happiness, and a peaceful year of all-round prosperity.
