Creating Jobs in York County: Governor Shapiro Secures $2.1 Million Investment from Gerard Daniel Worldwide to Expand Manufacturing Operations, Creating 35 New Jobs

The Shapiro Administration is investing $200,000 to support the company's expansion in Hanover.

Pennsylvania, which competed aggressively against Texas for this project, was recently ranked as the top state for business in the Northeast - jumping four spots from last year.

Since taking office, the Shapiro Administration has competed for and won over $41 billion in private sector investments that are creating over 25,000 new jobs and driving economic growth across Pennsylvania.

Harrisburg, PA - Today, Governor Josh Shapiro announced the Shapiro Administration has secured a $2.1 million investment from Gerard Daniel Worldwide to expand its manufacturing operations in York County. The Shapiro Administration is investing $200,000 in the project, which will create 35 new jobs over the next five years and retain 107 existing, full-time positions.

The company will expand its existing manufacturing capacity by making required building infrastructure upgrades, including installing a new electrical transformer, and adding new equipment to its manufacturing facility located at 150 Factory Street in Hanover.

"Manufacturing is a core part of our economic development strategy, and today's announcement shows that our Commonwealth can compete with any state in the nation - and win more business in the manufacturing sector," said Governor Shapiro. "My Administration will continue to make strategic investments that create good-paying jobs, strengthen our manufacturing base, and allow us to build an economy that works for every Pennsylvanian."

The Governor's Economic Development Strategy is a targeted plan designed to help Pennsylvania win and become a national leader in economic development, innovation, and job creation. Manufacturing is one of the key industries outlined in the strategy that will help the Commonwealth build on its competitive advantages and create real opportunity for working Pennsylvanians.

Coordinated by the Governor's BusinessPA team, Gerard Daniel received a funding proposal from the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) for a $200,000 Pennsylvania First grant.

Gerard Daniel Worldwide is North America's largest manufacturer and distributor of porous media to the filtration, separation, and barrier markets. The company serves various everyday industries, including the aerospace, automotive, food and beverage, and agriculture industries.

The 2026-27 budget signed by the Governor earlier this year builds on this momentum by investing in long-term economic growth and ensuring communities across the Commonwealth can compete and win. Secured in the new budget, Pennsylvania's Innovate in PA 2.0 program will disperse $125 million for promising startups, fund clinical trials for the life sciences, and enhance the Commonwealth's innovation network to help these companies succeed.
