Crime Map and Updates

Welcome to our crime map. You can search by address, date range, case number, or specific crime type. The map includes serious felony crimes, vehicle prowls, thefts (except shoplifting), and arrests beginning in Nov. 2020. Click on icons for more detail. Notable Trends

  • Two aggravated assaults reported with arrests in both cases. In one case, the suspect punched the victim multiple times in the head, requiring stitches for the victim. In the other case, the suspect knocked the victim down and then kicked them in the head, causing the victim to lose consciousness.
  • Three auto thefts reported with two recovered and one attempt only. Two were Kias and the third was a 2023 Buick Envision where the victim left their keys in the car.
  • Two residential burglaries reported. Officers arrested a suspect in one case that was a violation of a no contact order. In the other burglary, a bike was stolen from a secure apartment building.
  • One robbery reported where the suspect punched a loss prevention employee trying to stop the suspect from shoplifting.
  • Ten vehicle prowls or vandalisms reported this week. Multiple vehicles had large dollar amounts of property stolen from them, including tools, binoculars, a tablet, clothing, a wallet and a firearm.

Other Items

  • Officers responded to 1,106 calls for service this week.
  • This week is National Volunteer Appreciation Week. Thank you to all our amazing volunteers who contribute so much to our department and Olympia. They worked over 2,300 hours in 2025. Thank you to everyone out there who volunteers at other organizations, our community is better for it!
  • One more reminder that Arts Walk is this weekend with the Luminary Procession tonight (4/24) and Procession of the Species tomorrow (4/25). Check out the routes here. Consider walking, biking or planning a bus route to get to the event. If driving, please be patient, obey road closed signs and follow instructions from officers and volunteers doing traffic control. Thanks for helping make it a great event!
  • In this week's photo, Officer Hodgson and Officer Huges graduated from the Washington State Basic Law Enforcement Academy on Wednesday. Next up they'll return to OPD for in-house and field training. Congratulations!
