NORD Commission Kicks Off FitNOLA Spring Season with Health Expo

The New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Commission today announced that the FitNOLA Spring Season Kickoff and Health Expo will take place on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rosenwald Recreation Center, located at 1140 S. Broad St. All residents are invited to participate.

This free, family-friendly event will feature group exercise sessions led by local fitness partners Shaolin NOLA, ANEW Fitness, By Our Hands Wellness, CrossFit NOLA, and Footprints to Fitness.

Additionally, the health expo will showcase resources and wellness activities provided by organizations including No Wrap/No Tap (CrescentCare), All of Us/LSU Health Sciences Center, New Orleans East Hospital, Bike Easy, STRIVE, Heart N' Hands, and Ochsner Health.

As a special feature, Ochsner Health will provide biometric screenings, including cholesterol, BMI, blood pressure checks, and personalized consultations. Participants are encouraged to pre-register online for expedited entry and to access the full schedule of activities. Walk-ins are also welcome.
