State Senator Jason Plummer (R-Edwardsville) has recently been named Caucus Chair for the Illinois Senate Republican Caucus.
"I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve as Caucus Chair and to continue working with my colleagues on behalf of the people of Illinois," said Senator Plummer. "Our state needs leadership that puts families, taxpayers, and job creators first. That means fighting for lower taxes, more economic opportunity, reliable energy, safer communities, and government transparency. I'm proud to work alongside Leader Curran as we push back against failed policies and continue advancing a commonsense Republican vision for Illinois."
Plummer previously served as Assistant Republican Leader and has been a leading voice for Southern Illinois families, workers, farmers, and job creators. He represents the 55th State Senate District, which encompasses all or portions of Bond, Clay, Clinton, Effingham, Fayette, Madison, Marion, Montgomery, Richland, St. Clair, and Washington Counties.
Senate Minority Leader John Curran said Plummer's experience and leadership make him well-suited for the role.
"Senator Plummer has proven himself to be a thoughtful and effective leader for our caucus and for the people of Illinois," said Senate Minority Leader John Curran. "His service as Assistant Republican Leader demonstrated his ability to bring members together, communicate our message, and advocate for the people of Illinois. I am proud to continue working alongside Senator Plummer."
Plummer was first elected to the Illinois Senate in 2018 and has served in caucus leadership since 2021. As Caucus Chair, he will help guide caucus messaging, legislative priorities, and member coordination for the Illinois Senate Republican caucus.
