Traffic Advisory Calaveras County 07/03/26

Various Closures On State Routes 4, 26 And 49

Calaveras County - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform various closures on State Routes 4 (SR-4), SR-26 and SR-49 for maintenance and construction work within Calaveras County. Work is scheduled to occur as follows:

State Route 4

  • One-way traffic control at Little Johns Creek for bridge work beginning Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 10, from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
  • Long-term right shoulder closure from Gardener Lane Bridge to Depot Road for pavement work beginning Monday, June 8, through Friday, July 17.
  • One-way traffic control from Lower Moran Road to Horseshoe Drive for survey work on Thursday, July 9, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Avery Hotel Road to Lakemont Drive for pavement work beginning Tuesday, July 7, through Thursday, July 9, from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

State Route 26

  • One-way traffic control at Stone Corral Creek for bridge work beginning Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 10, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Indian Creek to Heinemann Lane for drainage work beginning Monday, July 6, through Wednesday, July 8, from 7:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Route 49/Mokelumne Hill to Buckeye Lane for tree work on Wednesday, July 8, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control at Ridge Road for tree work on Thursday, July 9, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

State Route 49

  • Overnight, one-way traffic control from Sam's Way to Copello Drive for excavation work beginning Monday, July 6, through Friday, July 10, from 9:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Gold Rush Lane to Calaveras/Amador County line for guardrail repairs on Wednesday, July 8, from 7:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
