Fulton County…
Sunday, Monday Night Lane Closures on SR 9/N Main St Southbound for Road Widening
ATLANTA METRO - Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) crews will install lane closures on a portion of State Route 9/Main Street (SR 9) in the City of Alpharetta, Fulton County this Sunday, June 28 and Monday, June 29 as crews widen the roadway. These activities are related to the SR 9 Widening and Operational Improvements Project.
Weather and on-site conditions permitting, one right lane southbound will be closed on SR 9 between Academy Street and Mayfield Road, beginning at 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 28 and Monday, June 29 until 5 a.m. the following mornings.
In addition, upon completion of the widening work, traffic is scheduled to be shifted to the far right lanes beginning Tuesday, June 30 to allow crews to perform full-depth grading in the center section of the roadway during daytime hours. Crews will then pave the reconstructed roadway section during overnight hours beginning Tuesday. These activities are scheduled for completion by Thursday, July 2.
These lane closures and traffic shifts will help ensure safety for drivers and work crews as large equipment will be on-site. Roadway signage will alert approaching drivers of the closures in advance. Drivers should allow for slower travel speeds and additional travel time through this area.
GDOT reminds drivers to drive carefully through work zones. Get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app.
