The Fort Worth Public Library has something exciting for those looking to do less doomscrolling and more page-turning in 2026. Throughout January, the Library invites you to start the new year on the right page with its Resolve to Read challenge.
The challenge is simple: read as many days as possible in January. To keep motivated, every 10 days you log reading unlocks a pick-your-prize item to grab at a library location near you.
"You'll be shocked at how quickly you hit your minutes," said Lynn Holt, adult programming librarian. "Reading the news, one volume of subtitled anime or the storybook your family reads at bedtime - everything is reading!"
Studies show that just 20 minutes of reading a day builds a habit that promotes mental and emotional health.
The challenge is open to all ages, and early registration begins Dec. 15. Sign up for free online with your computer or on a mobile device through the Beanstack app for iOS or Android.
If you prefer a physical reading log, visit any branch to pick one up starting Dec. 15.
Sign up online or walk into any branch during normal hours to get started. Library cards are free for Fort Worth residents and all Texas students. Non-residents can get a card for $50 per year.
