Fedorchak votes to strengthen national defense

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Julie Fedorchak (R-ND) voted in favor of H.R. 8800, the Fiscal Year 2027 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), legislation to fund national defense programs while strengthening America's military readiness, modernizing strategic deterrence, and supporting servicemembers and their families.

"The FY27 National Defense Authorization Act reinforces peace through strength by giving our service members the tools, training, and support they need to meet today's threats," Fedorchak said. "It makes critical investments in Minot's nuclear mission, strengthens North Dakota's growing role in space and missile defense, and improves quality of life for the military families who serve our nation. This is important legislation and continues progress on the regular appropriations process."

Key provisions:

• Sustains the Minuteman III missile force until the Sentinel system is fully deployed.
  
• Continues B-52 modernization with upgraded engines, radar, avionics, and communications systems.
  
• Supports missile warning, missile defense, and space missions at Cavalier Space Force Station.
  
• Strengthens America's nuclear deterrent and modernizes the nation's strategic forces.
  
• Improves military pay, quality of life, and support for service members and their families.
  
• Strengthens military recruitment, retention, and overall force readiness.
  
• Modernizes defense capabilities across every military domain, including cyber and emerging technologies.
  
• Reinforces Indo-Pacific security and America's ability to deter global threats.
