Orrick Hires Chris Davis as Chief Financial Officer

  • Chris Davis, who most recently served as Chief Operating Officer at Paul Hastings, joins Orrick as Chief Financial Officer. He is based in New York.
  • At Paul Hastings, where Chris also served as Chief Financial Officer, he led a global team with firmwide responsibility for finance, administration, operations and real estate.
  • Prior to that, he acted as Chief Financial Officer at Goodwin. He also held senior finance roles at Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and Perella Weinberg Partners.
  • Chris steps into the CFO role held by David Fries, who was previously an Orrick partner and rejoined the firm more than 15 years ago to help drive financial performance and growth. David, who will retire in early 2027, will continue to serve as an advisor to the firm thereafter.

"We are excited to add a seasoned financial and operational leader like Chris at this moment of transformational change in our profession and the way we serve our clients," said Orrick Chairman and CEO Mitch Zuklie. "At the same time, we are incredibly grateful to David, whose leadership has made our firm stronger, first as our partner and most recently as our CFO. It has been an honor to collaborate with him."

"Orrick is well-known for its sector-focused strategy and emphasis on innovating and leveraging data in the practice and operationally," said Chris. "It's an incredibly exciting time to join the firm's leadership team and help continue Orrick's extraordinary trajectory."
