Published: 01-10-2025 | Category: Troop A

Plaquemine - Just before 8:30 a.m. on January 10, 2025, Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A responded to a two-vehicle crash on LA 75 near Milly Plantation Road in Iberville Parish. The crash claimed the life of 34-year-old Randi Daigle of Plaquemine.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Nissan Altima, driven by Daigle, was traveling southbound on LA 75. At the same time, a 2000 Ford F-250 was traveling northbound on LA 75. For reasons still under investigation, Daigle lost control of her vehicle, entered the northbound lane of travel, and impacted the Ford.

Daigle was unrestrained, sustained serious injuries, and was pronounced deceased on the scene. The driver of the Ford was also unrestrained, sustained moderate injuries, and was transported to a local hospital. Impairment is unknown at this time; however, standard toxicology samples will be taken and submitted for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.

Troopers wish to remind motorists always to make good decisions while in a motor vehicle. Never drive impaired, fatigued, or distracted; follow all traffic laws; and always ensure every occupant is properly restrained. While not all crashes are survivable, taking simple precautions such as these can often mean the difference between life and death.
