Lowering of the County Flag: Jacqueline Garland

This is to advise that Commissioner President Reuben B. Collins, II, Esq. ordered the Charles County flag to be lowered to half-staff effective immediately and returned to full-staff at sunset on Thursday, October 9, 2025, to honor Jacqueline Garland.
It is with great sadness that we inform you that one of our dear employees, Jacqueline Garland, passed away on September 12, 2025.
Known as Jacqui, she worked many years in Charles County Government, both with the Department of Fiscal Administrative Services and with the Department of Recreation, Parks, and Tourism.
She was a dedicated team member offering assistance to anyone in need at any time. She volunteered countless hours at recreation programs, lending her creative and artistic talents to make the programs even better.
She leaves to mourn her family, friends, and co-workers.
