Chain Store Age Recognizes DG’s April Crofford at Retail’s Top Women Awards


April Crofford, senior director of store facilities management at Dollar General, has been named to Chain Store Age's Top Women in Retail list in the Store Development and Facilities category. Award recipients were recently celebrated at the 61st Annual SPECS Show, the industry's largest event for physical store and restaurant development and facilities management.

With nearly 20 years of retail experience, April has served in roles of increasing responsibility across store facilities, retail operations, sales and merchandising. She joined Dollar General in 2016 as a district manager where she led approximately 20 store teams. In 2019, April stepped into a divisional senior maintenance manager role in support of field operations. In her current senior director role, she leads a team of approximately 125 individuals on the strategy and implementation of DG's store facilities management which includes oversight of more than 20,000 stores in 48 states with cross-functional collaborations with partners in construction, merchandising, asset protection and field operations.

Chain Store Age's 2025 Retail's Top Women Awards recognizes outstanding female executives in retail to highlight the crucial role women play in key areas of retail operations and their overall contributions to the industry at large. The program recognizes women in technology, supply chain, store development/facilities management and real estate.
