Greenberg Traurig Advises Burda Principal Investments on Entry into Gaming Industry
BERLIN- July 3, 2026 - Global law firm Greenberg Traurig advised Burda Principal Investments (BPI), the investment arm of Hubert Burda Media, on the second closing of the US$8.5 million Series A financing for welevel GmbH.
BPI is an international growth capital investor and division of Hubert Burda Media, one of Europe's largest media groups. Since 1998, BPI has invested in internet-based technology and media companies, pursuing a long-term investment strategy with a focus on scalable technology and platform businesses.
BPI's participation in welevel is its first investment in the gaming sector through BurdaGP, a European gaming initiative developed in partnership with UnternehmerTUM. welevel is a game developer that uses artificial intelligence to create personalized survival games. The Series A round was led by Transcend Fund, with existing investor BITKRAFT Ventures also participating.
The Greenberg Traurig team advised BPI on legal due diligence, shareholder agreements, and its investment in welevel GmbH.
