A suspect in numerous armed robberies targeting tavern-type businesses has been arrested.

Between Tuesday, September 16, 2025, and Monday, October 6, 2025, the suspect robbed five establishments in the following locations:

  • 4800 block of North Lombard Street
  • 1100 block of Northeast 82nd Avenue
  • 2400 block of Southeast 182nd Avenue
  • 7500 block of North Lombard Street
  • 8700 block of North Lombard Street

Through the course of their investigation, detectives were able to identify a suspect. Investigators then collaborated with the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office to secure an arrest warrant for the individual.

In the early morning hours of Saturday, October 25, 2025, PPB's Major Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), served a warrant in the 6300 block of Southwest Canyon Court, where they took Demetrius E. Hillman, 32, of Portland, into custody. A second warrant was also served in the 6500 block of North Salem Avenue in connection with the investigation. Hillman was transported to the Multnomah County Detention Center and lodged on an outstanding warrant related to the case.

Investigators believe Hillman may be connected to more than a half-dozen robberies in total, dating back to the first week of September, and further charges are possible as the investigation continues.
