The Songwriters Hall of Fame announced today that four-time GRAMMY Award-nominated singer/songwriter RAYE will be the 2026 recipient of the Hal David Starlight Award. This prestigious accolade is bestowed to gifted young songwriters who are making a significant impact on the music industry with their original songs.
As one of the most formidable songwriters of her generation, RAYE has already forged a career defined by prolific creativity and massive success. Over the last decade, she has sent 21 singles into the UK Top 40, broke records at the BRIT Awards by winning six separate honors, including Album of the Year, earned an Ivor Novello Award for Songwriter of the Year, and so much more. Her recently released second album, This Music May Contain Hope, is her first-ever No.1 album in the UK, and her highest debut on the Billboard 20 in the U.S. The lead single, "Where is My Husband!," has already surpassed 1 billion streams. RAYE was also the inaugural recipient of the BMI Impact Award, which she was given at the 2019 BMI London Awards.
The Songwriters Hall of Fame induction ceremony is slated for Thursday, June 11 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
