Department of State takes action against driver education provider in Flint

In My Lane Driving School suspended for alleged violations

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan Department of State (MDOS) has summarily suspended the operations of a Flint driving school for violations of the Driver Education Provider and Instructor Act (DEPIA).

In My Lane Driving School, located at 1510 West Court St., Suite 3, was issued a summary suspension on July 17 after an initial investigation by MDOS found the provider failed to maintain required student records, exceeded the fire marshal's classroom capacity, falsified records, and allowed ineligible students to attend class. The provider is indefinitely suspended, pending an on-going investigation. No classes or other instruction may be held during the period of suspension.

MDOS inspects and investigates driver education providers and instructors to ensure compliance with DEPIA. Any consumers who have a complaint against In My Lane Driving School or another driver education provider are encouraged to file a Statement of Complaint online at Michigan.gov/DriverEdComplaint.

Anyone affected by the summary suspension should contact the Michigan Department of State Driver Education Unit at DriverEd@Michigan.gov or 517-241-6850 for additional information.
