On March 26, 2026, Consul General Mme. Zhao Liying attended China-Canada Business Dialogue in Edmonton. The event brought together over 80 participants, including member of the Alberta Legislature, the Mayor of Edmonton, the President of the Canada China Friendship Society of Edmonton (CCFSE), the Vice President of the Edmonton Chamber of Commerce (ECC), as well as representatives from local business and academic communities.
In her remarks, Mme. Zhao outlined the latest progress in bilateral cooperation following Prime Minister Carney's visit to China. She highlighted that the recently adopted outline of China's 15th Five-Year Plan serves not only as a blueprint for the country's development over the next five years, but also as a list of opportunities facing the world. She encouraged stakeholders in Alberta to seize these opportunities, translate potentials into tangible results, and deepen cooperation across key sectors, including trade, energy, agriculture, tourism and education, for the benefits of our peoples.
The event was jointly organized by the CCFSE and the ECC. Vice Consul General Mr. Liang Lin participated in the panel discussion, where he further introduced China's business environment and market opportunities.
