CEL, a Dublin-headquartered provider of switchgear and power solutions to the data centre and pharmaceutical industries, has officially opened a new, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in the US as part of a significant business expansion strategy.
CEL opened its new manufacturing facility in Williamsburg, Virginia this week, which will see the creation of 250 skilled jobs within the next 12 months, increasing to 500 by 2030.
This development is underpinned by a $40 million capital commitment, and will incorporate roles across R&D and engineering, manufacturing, quality, testing, logistics, and site services.
The new manufacturing facility in the US brings CEL's overall production capacity to more than 500,000 sq ft worldwide.
Founded in 1982, and headquartered in Dublin, CEL designs and manufactures power solutions for the global AI and cloud industry, including low-voltage power distribution systems, switchgear equipment and Remote Power Panels (RPPs).
With the support of Enterprise Ireland, CEL is aiming to significantly grow its export business to global customers over the coming years, while overall revenues in the business are forecast to more than quadruple to reach $500 million by 2030.
