Child Critically Injured In Crash; Driver Faces Multiple Charges, Including DWI

GREENSBORO, NC (August 31, 2026) - A man is facing multiple charges - including driving while impaired - in connection with a crash this afternoon that critically injured a 4-year-old child, according to the Greensboro Police Department.

At approximately 1:09 p.m., GPD officers, Greensboro Fire, and Guilford County EMS were dispatched to the crash on Burlington Road near Maxfield Road.

Police determined Dominick Ravon Isley, 33, of Greensboro, was driving a Kia east on Burlington Road when he went left of center and crashed into a Kenworth flatbed truck.

The driver of the Kenworth sustained a minor injury and did not go to the hospital.

The 4-year-old passenger in the rear of Isley's vehicle was improperly restrained and suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash. The child was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition this evening. The child is related to Isley.

Isley is being treated for minor injuries and will be taken to the Guilford County Jail on charges of driving while impaired, felony child abuse inflicting serious bodily injury, felony serious injury by vehicle, driving while license revoked, child restraint violation, and driving left of center.

The Greensboro Police Department's Crash Reconstruction Unit responded to the crash and is handling the investigation.
