Savannah, Ga. - U.S. Senators Jon Ossoff and Reverend Raphael Warnock are delivering resources to help Coastal Georgia seniors get health care.
Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock brought Republicans and Democrats together to help Hospice Savannah purchase vehicles to provide reliable daily transportation for seniors in Coastal Georgia.
Hospice Savannah will use the Federal funding to purchase three minivans and one transit mid-sized bus to help seniors in Coastal Georgia get to the doctor and get the care they need.
Sens. Ossoff and Rev. Warnock are delivering $295,000 for the project through bipartisan government funding legislation that became law on February 3.
"Our seniors should not have to struggle to access health care. Senator Reverend Warnock and I brought Republicans and Democrats together to make sure seniors in Coastal Georgia can get to the doctor and get the care they need," Sen. Ossoff said.
"I've long fought to strengthen health care for our seniors, and I am proud to have worked alongside Senator Ossoff to secure federal funding for these vital projects throughout Coastal Georgia," said Senator Warnock.
"Reliable transportation is essential to ensuring seniors can access care, stay connected to their community, and maintain independence," said CEO Dr. Kathleen Benton of Hospice Savannah, Inc. "This funding strengthens our ability to launch Georgia's first PACE program and expand access to integrated, person-centered care for older adults in our region."
