Bowling Green Fire Division Recognized for Mission: Lifeline Achievement

The Bowling Green Fire Division has received the American Heart Association's Mission: Lifeline ® EMS Gold Achievement Award for its dedication to providing rapid, evidence-based care to individuals experiencing severe heart attacks and strokes, ultimately saving lives. This marks the fifth consecutive year that the BGFD has received this recognition. Notably, the division earned honors for its response to both stroke and heart attack cases.

Mission: Lifeline EMS® is the American Heart Association's national initiative to advance the system of care for patients with high-risk, time-sensitive disease states, such as severe heart attacks and strokes. The program reduces barriers to prompt treatment, starting when 911 is called, continuing through EMS transport, and extending to hospital treatment and discharge. Optimal care for heart attack and stroke patients takes coordination between the individual prehospital providers and health care systems.

The Mission: Lifeline EMS Achievement Award highlights the importance of on-scene care, emphasizing collaboration and contributions to patient care by prehospital providers.
