Artist Applications Open for 2027 OTrak Chalk Walk

OCALA, Fla. (Sept. 23, 2026) - The City of Ocala is accepting artist applications for the fourth annual OTrak Chalk Walk, scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 30, 2027, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tuscawilla Art Park, 213 NE Fifth St.

The OTrak Chalk Walk will transform Tuscawilla Art Park into a vibrant outdoor canvas, featuring a juried chalk art competition that showcases the talent and creativity of professional and student artists.

This year's theme, "Inspired by the Masters," challenges artists to draw inspiration from renowned artists, iconic works and influential artistic movements that have shaped the art world. Florida-based professional artists and Marion County student artists are invited to apply and compete for cash prizes.

• Professional Artists:
  • First Place - $1,000
  • Second Place - $500
  • Fan Favorite Award - $500
• Student Artists:
  • First Place - $500
  • Fan Favorite Award - $100

The competition is open to professional artists who live and work in Florida, as well as middle and high school students in Marion County. There is no application fee to participate.

Artist applications are available at www.ocalafl.gov/chalkwalk.

In addition to the chalk art competition, the OTrak Chalk Walk will feature live music, local vendors, family-friendly activities, food trucks and opportunities for attendees to create their own chalk art throughout the park.

Applications for sponsors, artisans, arts organizations, nonprofits and food trucks will open Monday, Oct. 5, at www.ocalafl.gov/artpark.
