WATERLOO - U.S. president-elect Donald Trump will take the presidential oath of office Monday, Jan. 20, marking the beginning of his second term leading the United States of America.
The U.S. is historically Canada's most important trading partner and ally, but since winning Novermber's presidential election Trump has pledged to place 25 per cent tariffs on all products imported from Canada and Mexico, as well as raised the prospect of annexing Canada. His second term promises major implications for the Canada-U.S. relationship.
