Madame Chair,
Armenia takes note of the reports by the Director General under agenda items 5 and 6, including the update made this morning.
Armenia reaffirms the inalienable right of all States Parties to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) to develop, research, produce and use nuclear energy for peaceful purposes without discrimination and in conformity with the Treaty.
We underscore the invincibility of non-proliferation and the full compliance with all obligations under the NPT and Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement.
Furthermore, we emphasize the inadmissibility of any armed attack or threat of attack against nuclear facilities devoted to peaceful purposes. Such actions may pose severe risks to human life, the environment, and regional and international stability.
We call upon all States to act in accordance with these principles and to promote responsible and peaceful uses of nuclear energy within the framework of the NPT.
Chair,
Armenia welcomes the recent agreement between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the IAEA on practical modalities for the resumption of inspection activities. We commend the efforts of Egypt for facilitating the process. This development represents an important and constructive step toward rebuilding trust and strengthening both regional and international stability.
This agreement underscores the enduring value of diplomacy as the most effective means of addressing outstanding issues. At a time when tensions too often risk escalating into confrontation, it serves as a powerful reminder that lasting solutions can be achieved through principled and patient dialogue.
We encourage all parties to honor their commitments and to continue working collaboratively toward sustainable, long-term solutions that advance peace and security. Armenia reaffirms its readiness to support efforts to this end.
I thank you, Madame Chair.
