Avoid standing water as it could be contaminated or electrified due to downed power lines.

The City of South Fulton Fire Rescue wants to remind you to "Turn Around, Don't Drown" ahead of Hurricane Helene!

It's easy to underestimate the danger of standing or moving water during flood conditions.

- Avoid standing water as it could be contaminated by storm runoff and debris or electrified due to downed power lines.

- 6 inches of fast-moving water can knock over and carry away an adult.

- 12 inches of fast-moving water can carry away a small car

- 18-24 inches of water can carry away most large SUVs, vans, and trucks.

Don't risk it! Turn around, don't drown! Stay safe, City of South Fulton!
