The Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department hosts a number of events to celebrate National Parks & Recreation Month this July, beginning on Tuesday, July 7, with a youth golf clinic at Gillespie Golf Course.
Here are some other July programming highlights:
Youth Golf Clinics
Tuesdays, July 7, 14, 21, 28 | Ages 10-18 | Gillespie Golf Course, 306 E. Florida St. | 10:30 am to 12 noon | $40 per participant for all four sessions
Youth ages 10-18 will learn the fundamentals of golf and equipment will be provided. Register here.
Teen Night @ The Rec
Wednesday, July 8 | Lindley Recreation Center, 2907 Springwood Dr. | 6:30-8:30 pm
Looking for something fun to do this summer? Join the Parks and Recreation Department for activities like laser tag, glow-in-the-dark dodgeball, basketball, skating, and more.
Beats & Bops: DJ Workshop
July 13-15 | Downtown Greenway, Morehead Park Trailhead, 475 Spring Garden St. | 11 am to 1 pm
A mobile, hands-on electronic music workshop that introduces participants to the fundamentals of beat-making using modern music technology. Designed specifically for Downtown Greenway's summer programming, this special project offers four one-hour workshops in a single day, providing an engaging and accessible creative experience. Speed Friending
Friday, July 17 | Ages 21+ | Downtown Greenway, LoFi Park, 500 N. Eugene St. | 5:30-7:30 pm
Join the Parks and Recreation Department for "Speed Friending," a casual and fun way to expand your social circle. Designed to spark creative conversations and reduce the anxiety of meeting people, this evening event helps you see new friendships can be just a simple "Hey!" and a question away. Youth Volleyball Clinic
July 13-15 | Ages 6-12 | Greensboro Sportsplex, 2400 Sixteenth St. | 8 am to 12 noon | $80 per participant

Mental Health Matters

Mountain Bike Mini Camp

Join the Mountain Bike Mini Camp to build mountain-biking skills and techniques, and put those skills to the test on trails throughout Greensboro. Registration required.
Intro to American Sign Language
Sunday, July 26 | Downtown Greenway, Cairn's Course, 501 Guilford Ave. | 6-8 pm
Get an introduction to American Sign Language (ASL) outdoors with the NC Division of Services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This beginner class teaches basic signs in a fun, interactive environment. Learn to communicate and connect with others in a whole new way. Registration required.
